The Vertical Shift Device (VSD) is a high performance transfer device
that provides for the transfer of a Supply System Carts (SSC) of an over-under configured PowerStage™ system. Each
SSC handles a single pallet at a time and follows the track system
in its operation of moving a pallet from one input or output position
to any other input or output position on the PowerTrack™. At
the end of each track system the SSC is required to move from
one level to a second level which is accomplished by the VSD.

those areas that need high throughput in a limited space
Operation:
- While in the home position on the upper or lower track system,
an SSC cart is directed by PowerWCS to travel onto the VSD.
- The VSD then travels rapidly between levels of parallel tracks
to reposition the SSC for travel on the other level of the
PowerStage system.
- Once in the new home position, PowerWCS will command the SSC
cart to travel off the VSD and move to it’s required
next required pickup or deposit destination.
